Method
- Name each word’s group in one word (fruit, tool, feeling...).
- Find the most precise name that covers three words.
- The word that name does not cover is the answer.
Question patterns
Different category
Three words from one group and one from a nearby group.
Different meaning
Three synonyms and one word that means the opposite.
Two close categories
Both groups may be from the same area (metals vs gemstones); name them precisely.
- “Name the group”: if you can’t give the three one name, you haven’t found the answer yet.
- If two groupings work, choose the clearest and most precise, not the far-fetched one.
The hardest style: three words with one meaning and a fourth that feels similar but means something else (brave, bold, daring, generous → generous).
